Hephaestus

Sometimes, through no fault of my own, a build will turn out so hideous that the only recourse is to chop it up and start from scratch. Luckily, when my first attempt at a Terminator Techmarine turned out to be a stunted abomination, I was still able to save most of the torso with some clever cutting and a little bit of patience.

The major conversion here is the head and breastplate, which are taken entirely from the box-standard Techmarine. As the base model is cast almost entirely in one piece, the back of the body had to be cut off to sit it flat against the Terminator carapace. The legs were destroyed in this process, of course, but no big loss. I managed to keep the incredibly boss Adeptus Mechanicus belt buckle. The servo arm comes from the incredibly hard to acquire Iron Father (no link since it's not available anymore).

Finally, the chainfist is the classic bit grafted to a contemporary arm. Honestly, I prefer the look to the new style powerfist-with-chainsaw.
